Participated in the II regional coordination meeting on the development of the capacity to fight against cybercrime in Central Asia

Academy representatives participated in the second regional coordination meeting on the project "Increasing the capacity to fight cybercrime in Central Asia" held in Tashkent on March 9-10, 2023.

The event was organized by the Office of the Coordinator of OSCE Projects in Uzbekistan with the support of the Department of Countering Transnational Threats of the OSCE Secretariat (Vienna).

At the event, Jack Anderson, director of the US Embassy in Uzbekistan "INL", coordinator of OSCE projects in Uzbekistan, etc. S. Sizov, representatives of the OSCE Secretariat M. Stikings and Yu. Nosal, head of the Law Enforcement Academy E. Kolenko, as well as heads of specialized educational institutions of the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the countries of the Central Asian region, experts of various international organizations and foreign countries participated.

Within the framework of the coordinating meeting, the head of the Law Enforcement Academy, E. Kolenko, gave an introductory speech, highlighted the current issues of education for law enforcement officers in the field of combating cybercrime, and highlighted the best experience and practice of the OSCE in this regard.

The representatives of the second regional coordination meeting discussed the main priorities and need in the field of education in the field of combating cybercrime and working with digital evidence for law enforcement agencies of Central Asia.

It also reviewed the most effective national training approaches and methods for providing sustainable and comprehensive training in cybercrime and digital evidence handling for law enforcement officers.

Based on the results of the regional coordination meeting, practical recommendations aimed at increasing the scientific and educational capacity of law enforcement agencies in the field of combating cybercrime, and strengthening interdepartmental and international cooperation were adopted.

At the end of the event, heads of specialized educational institutions of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as representatives of the OSCE Secretariat visited the Museum of the History of the Law Enforcement Academy and the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The representatives of the coordinating meeting got acquainted with the capabilities of the cyber laboratory of the Academy, the Scientific and Methodological Center of Digital Criminalistics, the ARM, as well as the history of the prosecutor's office of our country.
