The training course on ensuring human rights continues

Regular training sessions within the course on the topic: "Countering torture: International practice and national experience" is organized in Navoi region. Employees of the Prosecutor's Office and internal affairs bodies of the Navoi region took part in the classes as listeners.

The course was launched in accordance with the National Human Rights Education Program in the Republic of Uzbekistan, approved by the Presidential Decree of February 7, 2023 on the initiative of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs within the framework of "Human Rights Week".

The training course was attended by the administration and teachers of the Law Enforcement Academy, the Institute of State and Law, the Academy and the Institute of Advanced Training of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with lectures on the application of international standards in the criminal legal system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, fundamental principles in the field of human rights, the content of the Convention against Torture and Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment and Punishment, international standards of detention and detention, guarantees of prisoners' rights, presumption of innocence, non-discrimination, and others.

Within the framework of the course the deputy head of the Law Enforcement Academy, Doctor of Law, Prof. M.Mamasiddikov participated with a lecture on the topic: "Improvement of legislation in the field of prevention of acts related to torture".

The training course aroused great interest among the students, they received the knowledge and skills they needed.
