On November 3 of this year, the administration and staff of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the work of the III Tashkent Anti-Corruption Forum, organized jointly with the National Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Combating Corruption, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, as well as other international organizations.
Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the National Council T.Narbayeva, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency A.Burkhanov, UNODC Regional Representative in Central Asia Ashita Mittal, Head of the GIZ Representative Office in Uzbekistan Joachim Fritz, U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan Charlotte made speeches at the opening ceremony of the forum and the plenary session Adrian and Anas Karman, Interim Acting Permanent Representative of UNDP in Uzbekistan.
During the plenary session, the launch ceremony of the Regional Platform for Accelerated Implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption in Central Asia was held with the support of UNODC. The heads of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan noted the importance of the Regional Platform, and launched it through virtual consoles.
Also, within the framework of the plenary session, an award ceremony was held for representatives of the media, state bodies, members of territorial councils for combating corruption, who made a significant contribution to the fight against corruption in Uzbekistan.
The Forum continued its work in the format of three subsequent sessions on issues such as access to information and its importance in preventing corruption, coordination of the activities of state bodies by anti-corruption agencies, as well as anti-corruption education and education.
At the session of the forum "Anti–corruption education and education - as mechanisms for preventing corruption", First Deputy Head of the Law Enforcement Academy E.V.Kolenko made a report on the topic: "The role of science and education in preventing corruption" and informed the participants in detail about the activities of the Academy aimed at combating corruption.
Also within the framework of this session, the Deputy Commissioner of the Anti–Corruption Commission of Malaysia, Director of the Center for the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption of the State of Qatar, Head of the Economic Crimes and Cooperation Department of the Council of Europe, Head of law enforcement projects - Anti-Corruption Analyst of the Anti-Corruption Network of the OECD Directorate for Entrepreneurship and Finance, Regional Officer of the Public Relations of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission of Hong Kong.
The forum allowed national and foreign and international participants to convey the reforms carried out in the field of combating corruption in our country, the tasks in the future and to conduct an intense dialogue on issues of further improvement of activities on the basis of international standards and advanced experience.
The Forum was an expert platform for the exchange of experience on improving the effectiveness of anti-corruption activities based on international standards and advanced foreign experience, as well as informing participants about the ongoing reforms in the field of anti-corruption and promising tasks in the country.
