A hybrid meeting was held at the Law Enforcement Academy with Salome Flores Sierra Franzoni, Head of the UNODC Information Center for the Study of Transnational Drug and Crime Threats, and David Ravo, representative of the UNODC Center of Excellence for Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics in the Asia-Pacific Region.
On the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by the leadership and staff of the Academy, representatives of the Ministry of Health and law enforcement agencies of the country.
During the event, representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan were familiarized with the experience of the countries of the Asia–Pacific region and Latin America in measuring illicit financial flows from drug trafficking.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to conduct joint research in the field of preventing drug trafficking and combating this activity in Uzbekistan by measuring financial flows in this area and taking appropriate measures.
