According to the results of the qualifying round of the XXV anniversary Competition in International Humanitarian Law named after F.F.Martens, the Phoenix team of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan received the right to participate in the final round of the competition on a grant basis.
The F.F.Martens Competition is an international humanitarian law competition (IHLC) organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for university students.
This year, over 50 applications have been submitted for the competition from Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The event will take place from April 22 to 26 in Moscow.
The competition is an event during which students gain skills in applying international humanitarian law in simulated situations, close to real ones, through role-playing games.
The main focus of the Competition is on the practice of applying international humanitarian law. The teams will be evaluated based on the following criteria: knowledge of IHL and public international law; ability to apply the provisions of law in practice; understanding of role-playing and staging; ability to argue their position; teamwork; quality of performance; imagination.
