A round table discussion on the topic “Combating Domestic Violence: Analysis of National and Foreign Legislation” was held at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by professors and teachers of the Academy, independent researchers and doctoral candidates, representatives of the National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Law University, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, the Institute of Criminological Research, the “Family and Gender” Scientific Research Institute under the Committee on Family and Women of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The main purpose of the round table was to present the results of the research and studies conducted within the framework of the Academy’s scientific and analytical activities, to develop proposals and recommendations aimed at preventing and combating domestic violence and crimes against women, and to determine the vector of future research. This involves experienced and young scientists, researchers, and practical experts.
In their speeches, the speakers talked about the attention given and the consistent reforms being implemented in this field in our country, the causes and social harm of domestic violence against women, the criminal-legal and criminological aspects of domestic violence, the formation of individuals and the prevention of domestic violence, and society's perception of the problem of domestic violence and other pressing issues were discussed and analyzed on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach.
At the end of the round table, experts and researchers in the field identified the next steps for continuing relevant topics and practical research aimed at preventing domestic violence.
