In order to study advanced experience in the field of digital forensics and to fulfill the tasks outlined in the Presidential Decree No. PD–229 "On Measures to Organize Scientific Research Activities in the Field of Digital Forensics" of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a delegation from the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the National Forensic Service under the Ministry of Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Shi Kyu Sun, Deputy Director of the National Forensic Service of Korea.
During the visit, representatives of the Academy became familiar with advanced technologies and resources used in the service to solve digital forensics tasks. Special attention was given to aspects such as analyzing digital evidence, recovering damaged data, studying malicious software, and working with photo-video materials and mobile devices.
The delegation studied technologies for facial identification in photo and video materials, which is a pressing task in modern forensic research. The knowledge and skills gained will be gradually applied in practical activities and will be used to improve the qualifications of Academy specialists and enhance scientific research in this field.
The training provided an opportunity for effective experience exchange, and future prospects for cooperation with Korean partners were discussed. Cooperation relations were established between the service staff and the Uzbek delegation, which marks an important step in strengthening international ties and introducing advanced technologies into the country’s forensic research field. This will help develop scientific research activities and improve the efficiency of digital investigations.
In addition, during the visit to the Republic of Korea, the delegation also visited the Digital Forensics Department of the Seoul City Police Agency, as well as the Scientific Cyber Investigation Department under the Ministry of National Defense of Korea. During the introductory meetings, experts exchanged experience in conducting digital forensic investigations, and the delegation was introduced to modern software and hardware tools used in professional activities.
