By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF–257 dated November 28, “On the Implementation of a Qualitatively New System for Training Qualified Personnel in the Field of Crime Investigation”, the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established. The academy introduced a continuous learning system aimed at training personnel in crime investigation, ensuring close integration with practice through a unified approach.
On November 28, 2024, marking the second anniversary of the foundation of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a Republican scientific and practical conference of young lawyers was held on the topic: “Human rights in modern investigative practice: new approaches”. The event saw the participation of students from higher legal and military educational institutions.
The conference brought together law students from over 20 higher legal educational institutions, including the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Amir Temur Academy of the State Security Service, the Customs Institute of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Law, the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and higher educational institutions from the regions of the republic.
In recent years, the agenda has prioritized improving systems to reliably protect human rights and freedoms, and to ensure respect for human dignity during the preliminary investigation and inquiry processes.
Currently, over 400 students are pursuing undergraduate studies at the Academy in the “Investigative Activities” program. Upon graduation, they will begin service in the investigative units of preliminary investigation and inquiry bodies. Additionally, the Academy's master's program in “Investigative Activities” trains current employees of investigative and inquiry bodies.
During the conference, students presented reports on approaches aimed at developing an effective system for fostering high moral, psychological, analytical, and professional qualities combined with a culture of unconditional respect for human rights and freedoms. Experts provided feedback and conclusions on these reports.
