Academy Staff Participate in International Events on Electronic Evidence Issues


Academy staff took part in a regional seminar titled "International Cooperation in Criminal Cases Related to the Handling of Electronic Evidence" held in Kosshi (Republic of Kazakhstan).

The seminar aimed to explore modern approaches to requesting, collecting, preserving, and utilizing electronic evidence in foreign countries.

The event was organized by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with the Central Asia and South Caucasus Network on International Legal Cooperation (CASC), and with the support of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.

More than 45 representatives from law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as experts from the USA, Bulgaria, Germany, South Korea, Italy, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Japan, participated in the seminar.

Participants were provided with practical guidelines on requesting electronic data from other countries, as well as a draft of the UN Convention on International Cooperation in the Fight Against Cybercrime and Digital Evidence.

At the event, G.F. Musayev, Head of the Digital Forensics Research Institute, delivered a presentation on "Collecting, Analyzing, and Preserving Electronic Evidence: OSINT Opportunities in Digital Forensics," which generated significant interest among seminar participants.

Additionally, during the visit, a meeting was organized between B.E. Kayumov, Head of the Undergraduate Faculty, and postgraduate students from the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting provided information about the key areas of activity, educational programs, and future objectives of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies.

The seminar served as an excellent opportunity for the exchange of positive experiences and for expanding international cooperation in the training and professional development of law enforcement personnel in the future.
