In order to learn about advanced international practices in preventing violence against children, a representative of the Academy, as part of an interdepartmental working group headed by the Children’s Ombudsman, undertook an official mission to Helsinki (Finland).
During this mission, special attention was paid to measures for providing comprehensive support to children who find themselves in various socially dangerous situations or have committed offenses. The delegation examined the specifics of preventing violence against children, as well as investigating and solving crimes, including sexual violence against minors.
According to UNICEF, Finland ranks second after Denmark among European countries in terms of child well-being.
One of the key factors contributing to positive outcomes in protecting children’s rights and interests in Finland is the effective system of cooperation between governmental and non-governmental organizations in ensuring children’s rights, lawful interests, and protection from all forms of violence.
