The Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Uzbekistan, hosted the first week of a specialized training program on counterterrorism. The event featured British expert and legal advisor M. Carroll, who has extensive practical experience in criminal law and counterterrorism.
The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and professional skills of prosecutors in the field of counterterrorism, study advanced international practices, and explore legal mechanisms and standards used in detecting, investigating, and preventing terrorist acts.
The program covered legal regulations and the practical application of international cooperation tools such as mutual legal assistance, extradition, and the exchange of operational information between countries. It also addressed modern approaches to collecting, analyzing, and utilizing evidence, including data obtained from open sources.
Particular attention was given to interagency cooperation and the development of effective coordination between national and international institutions, including law enforcement agencies, intelligence services, and organizations involved in counterterrorism efforts.
A key part of the training was the active discussion of real-life case studies, identifying challenges faced by prosecutors in investigating terrorist crimes, and jointly developing solutions based on international best practices.
The event was highly praised by participants and marked the beginning of the further development of this course.
