A roundtable was held at the Law Enforcement Academy in collaboration with the Research institute of criminology on the topic: “Issues of improving the effectiveness of crime prevention related to bodily harm”.
The event was attended by the faculty and staff of the Academy, independent researchers, and doctoral students from the Academy and the Institute. Additionally, over 40 experts and researchers from the field participated online.
The roundtable was opened by the first deputy head of the Academy, E.V. Kolenko, who emphasized the relevance of the topics on the agenda and noted that improving the effectiveness of crime prevention in this category should be a concern not only for law enforcement officers but also for researchers.
The Head of the Research institute of criminology, B.E. Berdialiyev, in his report highlighted the trends of crimes related to bodily harm committed in recent years in the country and in certain regions, as well as measures for their prevention.
Participants of the roundtable shared their opinions and suggestions on the issues discussed, paying particular attention to the existing problems in the application of legislative norms.
As a result of the event, based on the opinions and suggestions expressed, and taking into account best international practices, recommendations and proposals for the early prevention of crimes related to bodily harm were developed.
