The final presentation of the UPSHIFT project, implemented in cooperation with the Youth affairs agency, the Volunteers association, and the United Nation’s Children’s fund (UNICEF), was held at the Law enforcement academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The project aimed at engaging out-of-school youth and women in the field of social innovation and social entrepreneurship.
The event was attended by staff of the Academy, representatives of the international organization UNICEF, the Uzbekistan volunteers association, the Uzbekistan society of the deaf, the Uzbekistan chamber of commerce and industry, state and non-governmental organizations, members of the wider public, psychologists, project participants, and mentors.
As a result of the training sessions conducted within the framework of the UPSHIFT project in collaboration with partner organizations, three projects based on the best ideas were selected. These included the “We hear you” project, aimed at creating a Telegram bot for individuals with disabilities; the “Eco Art” project, which produces eco-bags to promote environmental awareness, and the “Barkamol” project, which combines a children’s playground with massage services. These projects were provided with initial funding, mentoring support, and ongoing monitoring, and are now fully operational.
During the event, the work carried out within the framework of these projects was presented. Speakers during the event wished success to the participants in their future activities and acknowledged the need to increase social projects in this field.
