At the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an advanced training course was organized for employees of public relations and legal information departments of the prosecution authorities on the topic: “Interaction with the mass media, public communication technologies, freedom of opinion and information”.
The course program included classroom lectures, as well as practical and field-based sessions. In addition to Academy staff, experts and specialists with extensive experience in the media sphere were involved in conducting the sessions.
During the training, participants received information on international standards and national legislation in the field of freedom of speech, as well as the search for, receipt, and dissemination of information; current tasks related to effective interaction between prosecution authorities and the public and media; the specifics of covering crime-related topics in the information space; prosecutorial rhetoric; methods for managing conflict situations in communication; stress resistance and stress management; and the effective use of artificial intelligence tools in content creation.
During the field session held at the Agency of information and mass communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specialists from the Department for the organization and coordination of information services of the Agency provided detailed information on mechanisms for ensuring transparency in government bodies, the legal foundations for interaction with citizens, the media, and bloggers, the importance of fostering proactive thinking in the activities of information services, issues of gender sensitivity in information dissemination, as well as the need to monitor the impact of information on public sentiment.
The session also featured a comprehensive discussion on issues of official response, media planning in information activities, criteria for evaluating performance effectiveness, and decision-making based on systematic analysis and media indicators.
It was noted that the course became a valuable experience in developing the participants’ practical and strategic skills, as well as in applying modern communication tools and information policy in their professional activities.
In addition, the participants visited the Museum of the history of the prosecutor’s office of Uzbekistan, where they learned about the stages of formation and development of prosecutorial bodies. The museum’s exhibits highlight key events in the history of the field, including the memory of victims of repression and the lives of devoted professionals who dedicated themselves to upholding the law. The visit strengthened the participants’ respect for and pride in their profession.
As part of the course, participants’ knowledge and skills were also assessed. Upon completion, they were awarded certificates.
