The Academy announces a competition for the position of cybersecurity specialist (temporary contract-based employment)


The Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established in accordance with the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP–257 dated November 28, 2022, "On the introduction of a qualitatively new system for training qualified personnel in the field of crime investigation".

The main areas of the Academy’s activity include:

  • In-depth, targeted basic training of specialists in the field of crime investigation, with the introduction of an effective system aimed at developing high moral, psychological, analytical, and professional qualities in trainees, combined with a culture of strict adherence to human rights and freedoms;
  • Training, retraining, and professional development of personnel in the field of investigation and other areas of law enforcement, based on programs aimed at forming and developing special professional competencies, and communicating the essence and content of judicial and legal reforms;
  • Establishing a system of professional development and retraining for employees of state bodies and other organizations through special training programs in the field of combating corruption and money laundering;
  • Implementation of interactive teaching methods into the educational process, aimed at developing skills for independently handling criminal cases, based on effective methods and tactics of crime investigation;
  • Organizing a unified system of training, retraining, and professional development for employees of the prosecution bodies, aimed at forming and strengthening their knowledge and skills, including in systems analysis and critical thinking, as well as a strong sense of justice and responsibility for upholding the rule of law.

At present, there is a need to engage a cybersecurity specialist (with experience in the field of education) on a temporary basis to support the activities of the Academy. If the documents submitted by the candidate are approved, a bilateral civil law contract will be concluded between the candidate and the Academy.

Responsibilities of the Specialist:

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity projects at the Academy as instructed by Academy leadership, and provide the following services (hereinafter referred to as "services") in accordance with the work schedule attached to the contract, aimed at developing cybersecurity skills among the Academy’s staff and trainees:
    • Prepare teaching and methodological materials on cybersecurity at the Academy;
    • Develop a lecture bank for the "Fundamentals of Cybersecurity" module in accordance with the academic curriculum;
    • Prepare test materials and presentations for the subject "Fundamentals of Cybersecurity" at the Academy;
    • Conduct classes for the module "Fundamentals of Cybersecurity."

Candidate Requirements:

  • A document confirming qualification in the field of cybersecurity (diploma, certificate);
  • At least 2 years of work experience in the field of cybersecurity;
  • Good knowledge of Uzbek and Russian languages.

Terms of Employment:

  • Duration of work: 2 (two) months, with the possibility of future employment at the Academy under a civil labor contract if necessary.
  • The amount of compensation will be determined by mutual agreement and paid based on the results of the work performed.
  • Required qualities: initiative, ability to work in a team, timely execution of assigned tasks.
  • Working hours: 40 hours per week, 5-day work schedule.

The candidate must personally visit the Academy’s Human Resources Department with a civil passport or ID card and submit the necessary documents (identity document, resume, higher education diploma and its transcript, a copy of the employment record book, and a TIN certificate).

After reviewing the submitted documents, if necessary, the candidate will be invited for an interview with a commission.
