On 27-28 November 2025, the Law enforcement academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan will host an international scientific and practical conference titled “Ensuring the rule of law in the context of modern challenges: problems and solutions” held as part of the academic decade dedicated to the third anniversary of the Academy’s establishment.
The international conference is organized by the Law enforcement academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of GIZ, the OSCE project coordinator in Uzbekistan, the European Union, the Regional office of the UNODC, and other partners.
The conference will be attended by leaders and representatives of the Prosecutor general’s office, Supreme court, Ministry of internal affairs, the National guard, State customs committee, Ministry of higher education, science and innovation, National human rights center, Anti-corruption agency, as well as academies and educational institutions in the field of law enforcement from Central Asian countries. Broad participation from international organizations and the expert community is expected: more than 120 leading experts from over 30 countries, including representatives of the United Nations, the OSCE, the European Union, International organization for migration, UNESCO, the International association of prosecutors, and other institutions.
The programme of the event includes a plenary session and six parallel sessions, covering key areas related to ensuring the rule of law in the digital era: combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), advancing science and education in the law enforcement sphere, combating corruption and corruption-related risks, legal regulation of artificial intelligence, countering cybercrime, and safeguarding human rights in the context of migration, human trafficking, and digital reality. Special emphasis will be placed on exchanging international experience, discussing contemporary challenges, and developing practical recommendations for law enforcement and state bodies.
On the sidelines of the international event, bilateral meetings and negotiations are also planned between the Academy and international and national partners, as well as the signing of memorandums and agreements aimed at expanding mutual cooperation.
The conference is intended to serve as an open expert platform for dialogue between government bodies, the academic community, and international partners, contributing to the further strengthening of the rule of law and human rights in Uzbekistan and the region.
The conference materials are planned to be published as a collected volume.
