The work of the international scientific and practical conference at the Academy continued within the framework of the session "Human Rights Without Borders: Illegal Migration, Human Trafficking and Digital Reality." The event brought together national and international experts in the field of human rights protection, migration processes, and combating human trafficking in the context of globalization and digitalization. The session was chaired by the Director of the National Human Rights Centre, Professor, Academician, and Member of the UN Human Rights Committee, Akmal Saidov.
At the opening of the conference, the role of national human rights institutions in the field of migration, legal protection of labor migrants, and new areas of international cooperation were discussed. Based on the experience of the African continent, Amina Buayyash highlighted the importance of national institutions. Representatives of the Migration Agency provided information on new trends in labor migration, migration flow management, and the formation of safe migration platforms.
The head of the mission of the International Organization for Migration, Andrew Gray, presented an analysis of human rights protection, the role of children's rights in migration processes, and gender and age aspects of human trafficking. Also, issues of ensuring human rights in the system of combating crime, forced displacement, the difficulties faced by women with disabilities, and expanding legal and safe working methods were comprehensively covered by Moroccan scholar Khadija Elmadmad.
In the following parts of the conference, scientific discussions were held on problems in the regional healthcare system, equal access to HIV and tuberculosis-related medical services, digitalization and legal regulation of migration relations, threats to human rights on a global scale, the lives of transnational migrants, and trends in labor migration in European directions.
In the final part of the event, the peculiarities of illegal migration and human security, the theory of securitization, ensuring human rights in the cybersecurity environment, and combating human trafficking in the legislation of the CIS countries were discussed. The mechanisms of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the institutional approach to the protection of victims of human trafficking were also analyzed.
National and international experts who participated in the conference developed practical proposals for the formation of a comprehensive approach to migration and human rights issues, strengthening regional cooperation, and creating legal mechanisms that meet the requirements of the digital age. The event was held in an atmosphere of scientific reflections and practical recommendations on ensuring human rights in the context of globalization and served to strengthen Uzbekistan's international cooperation in this area.
