Harmonization of international experience and scientific approaches in the fight against corruption

A series of educational and scientific events were organized at the Law Enforcement Academy aimed at improving the quality of scientific research in the field of anti-corruption, introducing modern research methodologies, and supporting the activity of young scientists in the international academic arena.

The events were held with the participation of Raimundas Kalesnikas, a professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Turiba in Latvia, Doctor of Law, and international expert.

For information, Professor Raimundas Kalesnikas is an expert with extensive experience in combating corruption, improving the efficiency of law enforcement agencies, implementing integrity standards in public administration, regulating conflicts of interest, and conducting international scientific research.

This visit is inextricably linked to the joint research project "Political Economy of Legal and Governance Reforms in Central Asia," implemented within the framework of cooperation between the Academy and the Department of Sociology of Law at Lund University in Sweden. As part of the project, Raimundas Kalesnikas is conducting research at the Academy on the topic "Micro-orders and macro-reality: reconsidering corruption, the rule of law, and effective governance in the context of Central Asia."

During the training, workshops, and practical seminars organized for the Academy's faculty, independent researchers, doctoral students, and master's students, international standards in the field of anti-corruption and their evaluation mechanisms, methodology for organizing applied research, prevention systems based on institutional integrity and ethics, conflict of interest management, property declaration practice, and effective institutional mechanisms aimed at preventing corruption in law enforcement agencies were discussed.

Participants also received practical recommendations on applying modern research methods, publishing scientific results in international academic journals, participating in international scientific projects, and implementing advanced foreign experience into national practice.

The events contribute to strengthening international scientific cooperation at the Academy, increasing the effectiveness of anti-corruption research, and training highly qualified scientific personnel.
