The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a training and practical session with the participation of employees of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the use of digital forensic tools in the investigation of crimes committed using information technologies.
Investigators from the military prosecutor's offices of Samarkand, Navoi, Bukhara, Karshi, Termez, Urgench, Nukus, Fergana, Andijan, and Namangan participated in the event.
During the training, the modern capabilities of digital forensics in combating cybercrime, as well as OSINT methods for searching, verifying, and analyzing data from open sources, were reviewed. Particular attention was paid to the use of special platforms and other open information resources in investigative activities.
The practical part was devoted to the specifics of site inspection in cases related to cybercrimes, identification and recording of digital traces, seizure of electronic evidence and ensuring its preservation, as well as the use of some software tools of digital forensics.
The practical session served to strengthen modern approaches to identifying, recording and storing digital traces, as well as to expand the possibilities of using open data and digital tools in the investigation of crimes.
