On December 1, 2023, an international conference on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic: "Legal education and science in law enforcement: current trends and prospects" started in Tashkent.
The purpose of the conference is to create a platform for discussing innovative approaches in the educational process, sharing experiences in the field of law enforcement training, taking into account modern challenges and making recommendations on the implementation of international standards in the field of combating corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as ensuring the protection of human rights in investigative activities.
The conference was organized by the Law Enforcement Academy with the support of the NGO "Regional Dialogue", GIZ, EU, OSCE, UNODC, IRZ and other international organizations.
Within the framework of the conference, plenary and thematic sessions were organized, in which issues of organizing the educational process in modern conditions, topical problems of legal science and law enforcement, prospects for increasing the potential of investigative activities were discussed.
The event was attended by more than 40 foreign experts in the field of science and education, as well as heads and specialists of institutions in the field from 20 countries and 10 international organizations.
The international conference was opened with a welcoming speech by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.T.Yuldoshev, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, academician A.H.Saidov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan P.R.Bobojonov, Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan R.M.Juraev, Chairman of the Customs Committee The Republic of Uzbekistan A.Y.Mavlonov, who noted the importance of science and education in the effective organization of law enforcement activities, the ongoing reforms, as well as the activities of the Academy for training personnel in the field, taking into account modern challenges.

Dikman expressed congratulations on the first anniversary of the establishment of the Academy and noted diverse cooperation projects on combating transnational crime and corruption, ensuring human rights and other important areas.
The partners also expressed their readiness to support the Academy's initiatives in the field of professional legal education, the introduction of innovative educational and digital technologies, and the achievement of high standards of education and science.
During the plenary session, the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Burkhanov, President of the Turkish Academy of Justice M.Uzdemir, Director of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy I.Bin Zaharudin, Deputy Director of the French School of Magistrates (ENM) H.Bulakras, Head of the UNESCO Mission in Uzbekistan S.Noshadi, Rector of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan made presentations M.Seksembayev, Head of the Scientific and Educational Center of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan M.Akhmedov, Director of the Center for Advanced Training and Retraining of prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic A.Kiyazov and others.
Along with this, thematic sessions were held within the framework of the conference: "Human rights education", "Implementation of international standards in the field of combating corruption and money laundering" and "Modern approaches to education and training of investigative personnel".
A Memorandum of cooperation between the Law Enforcement Academy and the French National School of Magistracy (ENM) was also signed on the sidelines of the conference.
In addition, the Academy's leadership met with the Rector of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.Seksembaev and the director of the School of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, E.Popa.
As a result of the sessions, practical recommendations of the conference were adopted on improving scientific and educational potential in the field of law enforcement, ensuring human rights in the activities of responsible authorities, implementing anti-corruption standards, countering terrorist financing, asset recovery, and developing interdepartmental and international cooperation.
The international conference will continue on December 2 in Samarkand.
