The Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Central Asian Association of artificial intelligence, has organized a scientific and practical round table on the topic: “Artificial Intelligence in Law Enforcement: innovative technologies for security assurance”.

As is well known, modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, play a crucial role in all fields, including the law enforcement system. These technologies are key drivers of change and innovation.

To support the development of this field, several regulatory and legal documents have been adopted in our country, including the “Artificial Intelligence Strategy – 2030”.

The use of artificial intelligence in law enforcement, including in law enforcement agencies and the judicial system, is one of the most pressing issues on today's agenda.

Researching current issues related to the practical application of AI technologies and establishing effective cooperation between educational institutions and law enforcement agencies in this area is one of the priorities of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The round table serves as a crucial platform for analyzing the opportunities and challenges related to integrating artificial intelligence technologies into judicial, law enforcement, and security systems. It also facilitates the exchange of best practices in AI application, the discussion of successful practical cases, and the development of strategic recommendations, legislative improvements, and practical scientific approaches for the effective implementation of AI in these sectors.

The event brought together representatives from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Court, Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, law enforcement agencies, the Supreme School of Judges, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, “UzbekVoice” company, the academies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, and State Security Service, the Customs Military Institute of the State Customs Committee, the University of Public Safety, Tashkent State University of Law, the Institute of Criminological Research, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, as well as students, trainees, and experts from business and non-governmental organizations engaged in AI technologies.

Additionally, representatives from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan participated in the event online.

During the round table, participants exchanged views on thoroughly studying existing challenges within the topic, proposing effective solutions, and outlining prospects for future development.

As part of the event, memorandums of cooperation were signed between the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Central Asian Association of artificial intelligence, as well as between the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute of Criminological Research.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, and it is planned to publish a collection of reports, articles, and theses on the topic.
