Employees of the Scientific Research Institute of Digital Forensics of the Law Enforcement Academy conducted the next mobile training and practical exercise in the Republic of Karakalpakstan on the topic: “The State of Crime Committed with the Help of Information Technologies, Practical Issues, and Improving the Efficiency of Solving and Investigating Such Crimes”.
The training was organized under the leadership of First Deputy Prosecutor General B. Valiev, within the framework of the training-practical seminar held in the city of Nukus. It was aimed at implementing the tasks given by the President during the meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Council on March 5, 2025, and based on the Resolution No. PQ-1 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 3, 2025.
The event was attended by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Minister of Internal Affairs, senior officials from the General Prosecutor's Office and the regional prosecution offices, investigators from district (city) prosecutor’s offices and young specialists, investigators of the Department’s regional administration, investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and district (city) internal affairs bodies, employees of the Expert-Criminalistics Center, and specialists from the Karakalpakstan branch of the Republican Scientific-Practical Center for Forensic Medicine.
Participants were introduced to the capabilities of the Academy’s Scientific Research Institute of Digital Forensics. Detailed explanations were given on the types of expert examinations that need to be conducted in the investigation of cybercrimes for investigators and supervising prosecutors, the specific features of uncovering cybercrimes committed using digital technologies, methods of applying special tools, techniques for inspecting and virtually revisiting crime scenes using 360-degree spherical video cameras.
In addition, the methodological guide "Investigator's Field Notebook for Handling Criminal Cases in the Field of Information Technology", developed by the Academy, was presented, with emphasis on its content and practical benefits.
During the mobile training, the technical and software tools used in practice for working with digital evidence, developed by the Institute of Digital Forensics, were introduced to all participants, along with their technical capabilities.
The Academy will continue to conduct on-site training and practical exercises in the regions.
