Employees of the Research institute of digital forensics of the Law enforcement academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan conducted field-based training and practical sessions in the Jizzakh region on the topic: “The state of crime committed using information technologies: practical challenges and ways to improve the effectiveness of solving and investigating crimes of this category”.
The event was organized as part of a training and practical seminar initiated by the working group under the leadership of first deputy prosecutor general B. Valiev, aimed at implementing the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-1 dated January 3, 2025, as well as fulfilling the instructions given by the President at the meeting of the National anti-corruption council on March 5 of the current year, particularly regarding the improvement of the quality of preliminary investigation.
The participants were provided with detailed explanations of the types of forensic examinations required in the investigation of cybercrimes, the specific features of solving crimes committed using digital technologies, and the methodologies for applying specialized technical tools. The capabilities of 360-degree spherical video cameras, which enable virtual reconstruction of crime scenes, were also demonstrated. In addition, the resources and capabilities of the Research Institute of digital forensics of the Law enforcement academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan were presented.
The methodological collection developed by the Academy, titled “The investigator's handbook on conducting criminal cases in the field of information technologies”, was also presented, with explanations provided regarding its structure and advantages of its application in investigative practice.
During the training sessions, technical and hardware-software tools used in working with digital evidence were visually demonstrated. Participants were given detailed information about the technical capabilities of each tool.
The Law enforcement academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan will continue the practice of conducting field-based training and practical sessions throughout the country's regions.
