The third cycle of webinars has been organized by the United Nations office on drugs and crime and the ARIN-WCA network.


The regional office of the United Nations office on drugs and crime (UNODC), together with the Interagency asset recovery network of Western and Central Asia (ARIN-WCA), held another online webinar on the topic: “Challenges of maintaining public trust in the management and disposal of recovered Criminal assets”.

The event was attended by the ARIN-WCA network Secretariat (Academy), representatives of member states of the network (Kazakhstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan), as well as staff of other competent authorities of Uzbekistan.

Speakers at the webinar included Oliver Stolpe, head of the UNODC Regional office, Jonas Astrup, head of the secretariat of the “Ishonch” fund in Uzbekistan, Sayyora Khodjayeva, chairperson of the civil society Advisory council under this fund, as well as Peter Maduoma from the “CLEEN Foundation” (a Nigerian NGO working in the fields of policing, public safety, and anti-corruption).

Experts presented information on the activities of the “Ishonch” fund and the “CLEEN Foundation”, on translating asset restitution processes into practice, and on how to ensure that recovered funds serve the interests of citizens.

The webinar participants received detailed answers from the experts to their questions of interest.
