As is known, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan has introduced a master’s program in “Legal support of cybersecurity.” Leading international experts and specialists in combating crimes in the field of digital technologies are regularly involved in the training process for this program.
In this context, in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Uzbekistan, the Academy hosted the second stage of an advanced seminar-training on “Open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysis,” organized jointly with the international organization Center for Information Resilience (CIR).
The training was conducted by CIR experts — Benjamin den Braber, Tim Farmer, and Jack Bishop. Participants included faculty members of the Academy and master’s students specializing in Legal support of cybersecurity.
During the training, participants strengthened their practical knowledge and skills in modern OSINT methods of open data analysis, including geo- and chronolocation, image analysis, work within the Dark Web environment, encryption techniques, and cryptocurrency transaction analysis. In addition, as part of the “Train-the-Trainers” module, participants learned approaches to planning and evaluating the educational process.
At the conclusion of the course, participants were awarded certificates.
The event contributed to the further strengthening of the Academy’s international cooperation and the expansion of opportunities for applying open-source data analysis technologies in investigative and operational activities.
