An international seminar-training dedicated to the use of digital technologies in the investigation of crimes related to human trafficking and the conduct of proactive online investigations based on OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) was held at the Law Enforcement Academy in cooperation with the National Commission on Combating Human Trafficking and Decent Work and the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.
For two days, under the guidance of representatives of law enforcement agencies from Sweden, the Netherlands, and Poland, as well as specialists from the Research Institute of Digital Forensics of the Academy, the participants studied best foreign and national practices in conducting online investigations and using OSINT tools. The risks associated with the use of social networks, messengers, online games, the darknet, and artificial intelligence for criminal purposes were also discussed in detail.
The practical part of the seminar-training was aimed at developing participants' skills in identifying dangerous platforms, using OSINT tools, analyzing web infrastructure, and collecting and processing data based on real cases.
At the end of the training, practical recommendations were given on the effective use of OSINT tools and other methods of digital forensics in educational and practical activities. Issues of integrating training modules on proactive online investigations into the system of training qualified personnel for law enforcement agencies were also discussed.
