Digital Forensics in Practice: An Innovative Kit Presented for Prosecutors’ Investigators

Within the framework of the tasks set at the videoconference meeting chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on January 27 of this year, aimed at fundamentally improving the quality of investigations and ensuring their transparency, the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been consistently implementing large-scale practical measures to enhance the methodology for the procedural collection, preservation, and documentation of digital evidence.

As a result of these efforts, a specialized kit developed by the Academy’s Digital Forensics Research Institute was presented to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The modern digital forensic technical tools included in the kit were demonstrated, and their practical significance in enabling inquiry officers, investigators, and prosecutors to promptly and reliably identify, record, and procedurally formalize digital evidence in criminal proceedings was highlighted.

In addition, staff members of the Academy’s Digital Forensics Research Institute conducted training sessions with investigators of the Almazar District Prosecutor’s Office of Tashkent City. During the sessions, investigators mastered the procedures and methods for using the technical tools included in the specialized kit and strengthened their practical skills in collecting, documenting, and procedurally formalizing digital evidence in full compliance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

These ongoing initiatives serve to equip investigative bodies with advanced technologies in the field of digital forensics, elevate their professional competencies to a new level, and ensure strict adherence to the principles of legality and objectivity in the investigative process by forming a reliable evidentiary base in criminal cases.
