Working meetings were held with representatives of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia and the Kvemo Kartli Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Human Rights Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the Public Safety Command Center "112", the Police Academy, the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Enforcement of Non-Custodial Sentences and Probation, the State Care Agency for Victims of Human Trafficking, the Office of the Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia, and the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
During the meetings, the parties discussed the legal, organizational, and institutional mechanisms for combating domestic violence. Particular attention was given to procedures for receiving and promptly processing reports, conducting risk assessments, implementing protective measures, providing victims with legal, psychological, and social assistance, as well as ensuring effective coordination among the responsible institutions.
A separate session focused on digital solutions relevant to the platform currently under development, including the electronic submission of reports, recording offenses within a unified information system, risk assessment, real-time data exchange among responsible authorities, monitoring the quality of assistance provided to victims, and ensuring data security.
The practical findings of the visit will be taken into account when defining the functional capabilities of the new platform, improving interagency cooperation mechanisms, and establishing a more prompt and continuous system for the protection of victims.
