The second phase of a special training dedicated to counter-terrorism issues was held at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Uzbekistan. The event featured participation from British expert and criminal justice advisor Mr. M. Carroll, who possesses extensive practical experience in criminal law and counter-terrorism.
The main goal of the training was to enhance the knowledge and professional skills of employees of the prosecutor’s office in the field of counter-terrorism, to study the positive experiences of foreign countries in this area, as well as to explore international legal mechanisms and standards used in identifying, investigating, and combating terrorist activities.
During the event, participants discussed issues related to working with digital evidence, cyberterrorism, collecting, analyzing, and utilizing evidence from open-source data through modern methods.
A key part of the training involved active discussions of real-life cases involving digital evidence, identifying the existing challenges faced by prosecutor’s office employees during investigations of terrorism-related crimes, and jointly developing solutions based on international best practices.
The training was highly rated by participants, and this series of events will continue.
