From November 17 to December 2 of this year, the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the support of a number of international partner organizations, organized an academic decade dedicated to the third anniversary of the Academy.
Within the framework of the Decade, it is planned to hold major international, scientific, practical, and educational events aimed at strengthening the rule of law, developing the professional competencies of law enforcement officers, combating modern threats, and expanding international cooperation.
The Decade program includes: International scientific and practical conference "Ensuring the Rule of Law in the Context of Modern Challenges: Problems and Solutions"; Training on counter-terrorism using open sources, organized in cooperation with the EU-ACT project; These include a practical training course "Fundamentals of Combating Cybercrime and Digital Forensics" for employees of the prosecutor's offices and internal affairs bodies of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan; an OSCE seminar on gender aspects in the fight against corruption; as well as a practical seminar with the UNODC on detecting and investigating fraud and money laundering using drop-schemes.
The final event of the professional bloc will be the UN Model in the format of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption. Students of law departments of higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and the countries of Central Asia will take part in it.
Along with professional programs, a number of educational events are organized for young people and the general public. Among them are the event "Promise to the Motherland," the Open Doors Day, the exhibition "Opportunities of Digital Forensics," the intellectual game "Zakovat," the competition "Expert in Foreign Languages," debates on the topic "Protection of the Rights of Persons under Criminal Prosecution," as well as the International Student Conference.
The Academic Decade will serve to strengthen the scientific and educational potential of the Academy, introduce modern approaches to personnel training, expand international cooperation, and enhance the legal culture of young people. At the same time, it also provides for ensuring the openness and transparency of the Academy's activities, increasing its accountability to the public, and summarizing the results of the work done.
The anniversary week vividly demonstrates the dynamic development of the Academy and its aspiration to train highly qualified specialists capable of adequately responding to modern challenges.
