The General Prosecutor's Office delegation, under the leadership of D. Turakhanov, deputy head of the Law Enforcement Academy, is making an introductory visit to Romania's law enforcement agencies in charge of combating corruption as part of the TAIEX INTRA project of the European Union.
Particularly, Commissioner Manuel-Elen Popescu, the director of Romania's Directorate General for Anti-Corruption (DGA), was met with on the first day of the visit. Commissioner Popescu gave information regarding the Directorate's operations, organization, primary responsibilities, and tasks at the meeting.
Similarly, detailed information was provided about the research activities being carried out by the DGA in the field of combating corruption.
In turn, the delegation from Uzbekistan presented initiatives being implemented in the field of anti-corruption in the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the aim of acquainting with the efforts being made in this field, including highlighting the role of the prosecutor's office and other competent authorities.
The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual interest and further cooperation.
