On February 18, 2025, a delegation led by O. Stolpe, Head of the Regional Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), visited the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation with UNODC, focusing on enhancing personnel capacity in areas such as combating corruption, crime prevention, asset recovery, digital evidence, forensic examination, and countering cybercrime. They also exchanged views on implementing joint projects and establishing collaboration with leading foreign educational and research institutions in these fields.
Additionally, special attention was given to developing cooperation within the framework of the tasks outlined in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-1, adopted on January 3, 2025, "On Measures to Create a Safe Environment in the Republic’s Neighborhoods in 2025 and to Further Improve the Effectiveness of the Early Prevention System of Offenses." The discussions particularly emphasized improving the efficiency of crime prevention and early offense detection.
At the conclusion of the productive and substantive meeting, both parties outlined future directions for cooperation to implement the agreed initiatives.
