On February 19 of this year, a meeting was held at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a delegation led by R. Castiglion, the head of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) office in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation were discussed, including capacity-building for personnel in the field of protecting the rights of minors, the implementation of joint research and projects, as well as the organization of educational seminars and training sessions.
Special attention was given to the tasks outlined in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-1, dated January 3, 2025. The importance of developing and implementing scientific methodologies aimed at the early prevention of offenses committed by or involving minors, as well as establishing a targeted prevention system, was emphasized.
In particular, the significance of the "UPSHIFT" educational program, launched in collaboration with UNICEF, was recognized. This program focuses on developing social innovation and social entrepreneurship skills among minors, and discussions were held on continuing its implementation in different regions of the country.
The head of UNICEF’s office, R. Castiglion, highly praised the activities and ongoing work of the Academy.
