A seminar-training titled "The Peculiarities of the Adversarial Principle and the Functions of Case Resolution in Fair Trial" was held at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event brought together representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Higher School of Judges under the Supreme Judicial Council, judges, staff of the Specialized Prosecutors Corps, representatives of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and professors and teaching staff of the Academy.
During the event, participants discussed the significance of the adversarial principle in criminal procedure law for ensuring fair trials, the specific aspects of prosecution, defense, and case resolution functions, as well as the responsibilities assigned to prosecutors and defense attorneys in presenting, examining, and evaluating evidence during court proceedings. These discussions were grounded in an analysis of challenges observed in judicial practice.
Representatives of partner organizations elaborated in detail on the existing issues within the scope of the agenda and shared their thoughts and suggestions on improving the current legislation.
