Another internship of the Academy’s staff at Lund University (Sweden)


Representatives of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in an internship at Lund University (Sweden) within the framework of the project "Central Asian Law: Legal Cultures and Business Environment in Central Asia".

During the internship, the Academy’s staff became acquainted with the university's educational system and research activities, held academic meetings with leading professors and lecturers of the university, and exchanged practical experiences.

In addition, they participated in an international conference on the topic “Corruption in Non-Western Societies: A View from Central Asia,” organized by the Department of Sociology of Law at Lund University.

Several presentations were delivered during the event, including:

  • Head of Faculty A. Khidoyatullaev on “Problems and Prospects for Increasing the Efficiency of Enforcement of Judicial Acts and Documents of Other Authorities”;
  • Head of Center Sh. Shaizakov on “Legal Foundations for Combating Corruption and Bureaucratic Barriers in Legal Expertise of Anti-Corruption Legislation (The Case of Uzbekistan)”;
  • Head of Department A. Komilov on “Benefits and Preferences for Labor Migrants: The Case of Uzbekistan”;
  • Associate Professor S. Shomirzaev on “Measures to Combat and Prevent Corruption Offenses: Foreign Experience and Comparative Legal Analysis”;
  • Prosecutor of the Center T. Safarov on “Customs and Traditions as Socio-Cultural Sources of Corruption: Legal and Criminological Analysis Based on Central Asian Practice.”

As a result of the internship, scientific articles were prepared by the Academy staff and submitted to high-ranking international journals.

Cooperation between the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Lund University is ongoing.
