A consultative meeting of international experts on pressing issues of improving the efficiency of collection and storage of physical evidence during crime scene examination was held at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was attended by leading specialists, scientists, and experts in the field of forensic science from various countries and organizations. The main focus was on the development of the forensic examination system, improvement of processes related to physical evidence handling, and the introduction of modern technologies.
During the event, participants discussed strengthening the material and technical base of forensic institutions, implementing advanced methods of working with physical evidence based on international standards, enhancing the qualifications of forensic experts, and increasing the role of forensic expertise in combating drug trafficking. The event was held with the financial support of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Law Enforcement Academy.
The outcomes of the event will contribute to the development of strategic directions for improving scientific and methodological approaches in forensic science, applying modern technologies, and advancing personnel training. Proposals were made to expand international cooperation and launch joint scientific research projects.
