Participation in the events of the 42nd plenary week of the Eurasian Group

The leadership of the Academy took part in the events of the 42nd plenary week of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), which took place from May 26 to 30 of this year in Moscow.

As part of the working meeting of the Heads of National AML/CFT Training and Methodological Centers of the EAG Member States held on May 26, a roundtable was conducted where participants were introduced to the Academy’s activities in implementing educational and awareness-raising events in the field of financial security.

In addition, a representative of the Academy served as co-chair and moderator of the session of the working group on evaluation and legal issues and delivered a report titled “National Risk Assessment of Financing the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction: Experience of the Republic of Uzbekistan” at the roundtable held following the working group meeting.

On May 27, the 22nd meeting of the International Network Institute for AML/CFT took place. During the meeting, the Academy’s representative presented a report on the measures being undertaken in the Republic of Uzbekistan to support efforts aimed at ensuring financial security.

Continuing the series of events, on May 28, the First Deputy Head of the Academy, E. Kolenko, met with the Director General of the International Training and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring (ITMCFM), I. Uvarov. The meeting focused on issues related to staff training and enhancing the expert capacity of national AML/CFT systems.

As a token of appreciation for contributions to the development and preparation of the educational manual “Features of National AML/CFT Systems of the Eurasian Region States. Volume 4. Republic of Uzbekistan,” created within the framework of joint educational projects, certificates of gratitude were presented to the leadership and staff of ITMCFM.

The eventful week concluded with the 42nd EAG Plenary Meeting, held on May 29–30. As part of the event, a video was presented highlighting the National Financial Security Olympiad among students of secondary specialized educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held in May of this year at the Law Enforcement Academy.

The participation of the Academy’s leadership in the Plenary Week events contributed to strengthening and expanding the Academy’s international cooperation.
