An interdepartmental meeting was held on improving crime prevention in neighborhoods

On July 17, 2025, members of the Academy’s working group participated in an interdepartmental meeting held at the Criminology Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was dedicated to developing a Joint Action Plan in accordance with the implementation of Presidential Decree No. PD–1 dated January 3, 2025, titled “On measures to create a safe environment in the neighborhoods of the Republic in 2025 and further improve the effectiveness of the crime prevention system.”

Representatives from the Law Enforcement Academy, the Department of Crime Prevention of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the MIA Academy, the Institute of Public Safety, and Tashkent State University of Law attended the meeting.

During the event, participants discussed the scientific research and practical work carried out in the first half of 2025 based on the PQ–1 decree. In particular, the criminogenic situation in neighborhoods, the performance of prevention entities, social risk factors, and the approaches used to address them were analyzed.

Specific proposals and initiatives were put forward by the participants. Based on these suggestions, an agreement was reached to develop a draft Joint Action Plan for the second half of the year. This plan will be implemented through cooperation between government agencies, research institutions, and higher education organizations to ensure the fulfillment of the decree’s objectives.
