Combating Cybercrime: A Practical Training Session Was Organized for Prosecutor’s Office and Internal Affairs Officers of Tashkent Region

Specialists from the Digital Forensics Research Institute of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a mobile practical training session in Tashkent Region on the topic: “The State of Crime Committed Using Information Technologies, Practical Challenges, and Increasing the Efficiency of Detection and Investigation of Such Crimes”.

The training session was actively attended by senior officials of the Tashkent Regional Prosecutor’s Office and Internal Affairs bodies, investigators from district (city) prosecutor’s offices and internal affairs departments, young specialists, and staff from the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.

During the event, investigators and prosecutors received practical information on urgent issues related to detecting and investigating cybercrimes, as well as methods for effectively using modern digital technologies and specialized technical tools. In particular, the capabilities of a 360-degree spherical video camera that allows for virtual examination of crime scenes were demonstrated.

Additionally, participants were introduced to the content and practical advantages of using the “Investigator’s Field Notebook for Handling Criminal Cases in the Field of Information Technologies,” a practical guide developed by the Academy.

Throughout the training, advanced technical and software tools designed for working with digital evidence were presented, and practical skills for each tool were developed.

The Law Enforcement Academy will continue to consistently conduct such practical training sessions for investigative bodies in the regions in the future.
