A representative of the Academy, as part of an interdepartmental delegation headed by the Authorized Representative of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Rights of the Child (Children's Ombudsman), made a working visit to Stockholm, Sweden.
During the visit, the members of the delegation studied the Swedish model for the protection of children's rights, mechanisms for combating violence against children, and the system of comprehensive assistance provided to children who find themselves in various socially dangerous situations or have committed offenses. At the same time, an exchange of experience took place in the practice of investigating crimes, including cases of sexual violence against minors.
Within the framework of the visit, members of the delegation held meetings with representatives of the Parliament of Sweden (Riksdag), the Farsta Social Service (Socialtjänsten), the Raul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, the Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation (SIDA), the Children's Ombudsman, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, Barnachus, and a number of other organizations and institutions.
The visit of the delegation headed by the Children's Ombudsman of the Republic of Uzbekistan contributed to the improvement of national legislation, the development of law enforcement practice, and the study of Sweden's best practices in the comprehensive protection of the rights of children who have suffered from violence or committed illegal acts.
