For the first time, a Global Actions and Awareness Week was organized at the Law Enforcement Academy, aimed at widely promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) put forward by the UN. This week is held within the framework of an international initiative put forward by the University Global Coalition, aimed at involving educational institutions in supporting the ideas of sustainable development through practical actions.
The main goal of the event is to raise awareness among the Academy staff and students about the Sustainable Development Goals, form sustainable thinking and a responsible lifestyle, develop environmental culture, and strengthen social and environmental responsibility in society.
During the week, a number of scientific, educational, and practical events were organized at the Academy. In particular, lectures, seminars, open dialogues, and discussions with experts were held on such topical issues as the essence and significance of the SDGs, environmental protection, the introduction of sustainable practices, a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition, as well as the negative consequences of early marriage among young people.
Also, within the framework of the week, a number of practical initiatives were implemented aimed at increasing the social activity of participants and forming an ecological culture. In particular, a plogging campaign (collecting garbage while running or walking), bookcrossing (giving or exchanging books), debates on the Sustainable Development Goals, presentations of innovative ideas and startups, as well as essay and banner (poster) competitions were organized.
During the events, the audience and students put forward a number of new ideas, practical proposals, and initiatives related to sustainable development. This served to further stimulate the active participation of young people in the widespread introduction of the principles of sustainable development in educational institutions and their implementation.
At the end of the week, winners of competitions in various areas and active participants will be awarded special certificates and commemorative gifts.
This week, filled with lively discussions, social initiatives, and practical activities, was an important step towards further promoting sustainable development ideas, fostering a culture of environmental and social responsibility, and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals at the Academy.
