A competition is announced for the position of a specialist in the field of preparing scientific publications in accordance with international standards, organizing publication processes, and working with international scientific databases (temporary employment based on a contract).
The Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan plans to engage IT specialists and expert professionals on a temporary basis in order to bring the quality of scientific publications to the international level, including organizing the Anti-Corruption Studies and Research scientific journal of the Academy in accordance with SCOPUS database requirements.
If the documents submitted by the specialist are approved, a bilateral civil-law contract will be signed between the specialist and the Academy.
Responsibilities of the Specialist
The specialist shall perform the following tasks:
Develop an action plan for preparing the Anti-Corruption Studies and Research journal for inclusion in the SCOPUS database and organizing publication processes for 2026.
Organize the process of article submission, peer review, and publication for the journal:
Announce a Call for Papers
Accept submissions through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform
Check for plagiarism using the StrikePlagiarism system
Organize a double-blind peer review process
Edit and format articles
Assign Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) and publish the journal
Provide official updates via LinkedIn
Improve the quality of the journal and ensure compliance with SCOPUS requirements:
Conduct quarterly editorial board meetings
Verify metadata via the Open Journal Systems platform
Monitor integration with ORCID (international author identification system)
Hold online meetings with the international editorial board
Prepare documentation in accordance with SCOPUS requirements
Strengthen the journal’s information policy and scientific promotion:
Publish at least 2 posts monthly on LinkedIn
Prepare PR materials
Organize online webinars for authors
Expand international cooperation to enhance the journal’s scientific activity
Candidate Requirements
At least 5 years of experience working with SCOPUS and other international scientific databases
At least 2 years of experience in the field of information technology
Proficiency in working with the OJS platform
Experience in working with scientific journals
Good command of Uzbek, English, and Russian languages
Duration of Work
The duration of the assignment is 3 months. The contract period may be extended by mutual agreement of the parties if necessary.
The payment amount will be determined by agreement of the parties and will be made based on the results of the work performed.
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
