A seminar aimed at preventing cybercrime among young people was held

A practical seminar aimed at preventing offenses, specifically cybercrime, was held at the "Geolog" mahalla citizens' assembly in the city of Karshi, Kashkadarya region.

The event was organized by staff from the Research Institute of Digital Forensics of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the implementation of Presidential Decrees No. PP-1 and PP-2 dated January 5, 2026.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to protecting young people from threats in the internet space, increasing their legal and digital literacy, and developing cyber hygiene skills.

In the practical part of the seminar, fraudulent schemes widespread in the virtual space were explained based on real-life examples. In particular, detailed information was provided on the risks of spreading malicious software through suspicious links, using fake social media accounts, involvement in financial pyramids, and actions aimed at obtaining personal data.

The institute's specialists provided young people with practical recommendations on protecting accounts and electronic payment instruments, using secure passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, responding critically to suspicious messages and offers, and avoiding the disclosure of personal data.

The event emphasized that timely awareness of threats in the digital environment and adherence to security rules are essential conditions for protection against cybercrime.
