A practical seminar aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency, with a particular focus on cybercrime, was held for young people at the Geolog Citizens' Assembly (Mahalla) in Karshi City, Kashkadarya Region.
The event was organized by researchers from the Digital Forensics Research Institute of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the implementation of Presidential Resolutions No. PQ–1 and No. PQ–2, issued on 5 January 2026.
The seminar placed particular emphasis on protecting young people from risks in cyberspace, enhancing their legal and digital literacy, and developing practical cyber hygiene skills. Participants were introduced to the importance of responsible online behavior and the growing challenges associated with the digital environment.
During the practical session, experts explained the mechanisms of common cyber fraud schemes through real-life examples. Particular attention was devoted to the distribution of malicious software via suspicious links, the use of fraudulent social media accounts, recruitment into financial pyramid schemes, and attempts to obtain users' personal information through deceptive practices.
Specialists from the Institute also provided practical recommendations on safeguarding online accounts and electronic payment instruments, creating strong and secure passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, critically evaluating suspicious messages and online offers, and protecting the confidentiality of personal data.
The seminar concluded by emphasizing that the timely recognition of digital threats and strict adherence to cybersecurity best practices constitute essential prerequisites for preventing cybercrime and ensuring personal security in the digital environment.
