Targeted measures to ensure a safe environment in Surkhandarya mahallas

A working group of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, under the leadership of Deputy Prosecutor General S.I. Samadov, has continued its scientific and practical assessment of early crime prevention in the mahallas of the Surkhandarya Region. The initiative focuses on identifying the factors and conditions conducive to criminal activity and developing evidence-based measures to promote a safe and secure community environment.

As part of the assessment, the working group analyzed criminogenic factors and the underlying conditions contributing to the commission of crimes in mahallas across the region's cities and districts. Taking into account the specific characteristics and existing challenges of each locality, the group developed scientifically grounded recommendations aimed at improving the targeting and effectiveness of crime prevention measures.

Members of the working group have also conducted meetings with representatives of the Mahalla Seven—the local community-based coordination mechanism—to discuss practical approaches to ensuring public safety and strengthening the early prevention of offences at the community level.

In addition, the implementation of the developed recommendations is being directly monitored in the field. Responsible officials are provided with practical guidance to enhance the organization and effectiveness of crime prevention activities and to ensure the consistent application of preventive measures at the local level.
