Memorandum on Cooperation in Digital Forensics Signed

As part of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Cybersecurity Department of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Memorandum was signed to further strengthen interagency cooperation, reinforce the legal framework governing collaboration, facilitate the exchange of practical experience, and enhance the professional qualifications of specialists in the field of digital forensics.

The Memorandum provides for the organization of joint meetings, seminars, and training sessions, the implementation of joint projects and initiatives aimed at advancing digital forensics, as well as the development of proposals to improve legislation and professional standards in this field.

The parties identified the following as priority areas of cooperation: enhancing the qualifications of specialists in modern types of digital forensic examinations; exchanging experience in the establishment and operation of specialized forensic laboratories; conducting joint forensic examinations and research; and developing methodologies for carrying out digital forensic examinations.

In addition, the parties expressed their intention to expand cooperation by organizing international training courses in digital forensics and exchanging best practices, information, and expert consultations on matters falling within their respective areas of competence.

The signing of the Memorandum marks an important step towards strengthening human resources, scientific and methodological capacity, and expert potential in the fields of digital forensics and cybersecurity. It will also contribute to improving the effectiveness of combating crimes committed through the use of information technologies.
