Professional retraining courses of 288 hours are being systematically organized at the Law Enforcement Academy for employees who are beginning their careers as investigators within the system of the Investigation Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. To date, more than 260 employees have successfully completed the programme.
The courses have been established within the framework of the continuous training system for investigative personnel stipulated by Decree No. PF–257 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 28 November 2022. The programme is aimed at preparing employees to conduct independent investigations and developing their skills in applying modern investigative tactics and methodologies in practice.
The training programme covers the application of criminal and criminal procedural legislation, the collection and assessment of evidence, the planning and conduct of investigative actions, the use of digital technologies, ensuring human rights and freedoms, professional ethics, as well as matters of official discipline. Alongside the Academy’s professors and teachers, specialists with many years of practical experience are involved in the training sessions.
At the end of the course, trainees undergo a final attestation. Employees who successfully meet the established requirements are awarded diplomas of professional retraining. Currently, training sessions for the next groups are continuing at the Academy.
Systematic training of investigators contributes to strengthening the capacity of personnel in internal affairs bodies who are capable of investigating crimes qualitatively and impartially, while strictly observing human rights.
