The next stage of the three-stage regional initiative aimed at enhancing professional capacity in the field of combating cybercrime was held in Dushanbe. The training sessions on digital forensics and open-source intelligence (OSINT) were conducted by two experts from the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The specialised training course was attended by 18 officers of law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan – 13 officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and 5 prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The three-day programme covered the main types of cybercrime, the fundamentals of digital forensics, the specific features of handling digital evidence, and OSINT tools. Participants also examined methods of investigating crimes committed using darknet resources.
The course was conducted in cooperation with the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The regional initiative consists of three stages: the first two stages were held in Dushanbe, while the final stage is planned to be organised in Tashkent.
This initiative will contribute to the practical implementation of the agreements reached between the two countries and to strengthening cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, including cooperation in combating cybercrime and ensuring cybersecurity.
