In the 2026/2027 academic year, the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan admitted new students. The ceremony outlined the key priorities related to their education and professional development. At the same time, the educational process in the “Cyber Law” bachelor’s degree programme commenced at the Academy.
The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Council of Veterans of the Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan, the Academy’s leadership and faculty, students’ parents, as well as representatives of the public. The event embodied the main idea: “Together as one Motherland, one people, we will create a new life and future!” Young people who achieved the highest scores in the entrance examinations and were recommended for admission on the basis of state grants were recognised by the Head of the Academy.
Over the past three years, the number of students at the Academy has increased from nearly 300 to 1,500. This was facilitated by the introduction of new educational programmes and an increase in admission quotas based on proposals from employers. The “Cyber Law” programme was introduced in accordance with Presidential Decree No. PF–204 dated 3 November 2025. This year, the Academy also graduated its first students in the “Investigative Activities” programme: 220 graduates were assigned to serve in the investigative divisions of authorised state bodies, with 100 percent employment ensured.
In the previous academic year, Academy students became recipients of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islom Karimov State Scholarship for the first time. Graduating students of the “Investigative Activities” programme, as part of the Uzbekistan team, won in the “International Relations” category of the 5th International Olympiad on Financial Security. Academy students also participated for the first time in the final stage of an international competition on international criminal law held in The Hague. During the academic year, a total of 37 students participated in conferences, seminars and exchange programmes held in foreign countries.
New students were introduced to the content and specific features of the educational process. Particular attention will be paid to developing skills in qualifying crimes and preparing procedural documents, developing digital skills and stress resilience, as well as further improving dual education. Students’ communication culture, teamwork, critical thinking, leadership and decision-making skills will be regularly studied and assessed.
The speakers drew the students’ attention to the high responsibility of a profession directly associated with the protection of human rights and freedoms. It was emphasised that discipline is not only a mandatory requirement of the educational process, but also an important criterion of readiness for future service in law enforcement bodies. The students noted that the admission process had been transparent and fair, while parents highlighted that appropriate opportunities had been created at the Academy to receive quality education. Having familiarised themselves with the internal rules and procedures, the electronic learning platform and the capabilities of the mobile application, the new students began their classes.
