The Academy Continues Targeted Prevention Work in the Mahallas of Almalyk

The working group of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan studied the crime situation in the “Hamza” mahalla of Almalyk city, Tashkent Region. With the participation of Deputy Head of the Academy A. Odinaev and professors and teachers, the causes and conditions contributing to offences and the factors affecting the crime situation were analysed.

The study was conducted within the framework of the Academy’s comprehensive scientific and practical work being carried out in the cities of Almalyk and Angren. These activities are aimed at implementing the tasks set out in Resolution No. PQ–1 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 3 January 2025 to create a safe environment in mahallas and prevent offences at an early stage.

Based on the analysis conducted in the Hamza mahalla, the specific characteristics of offences were assessed, and scientifically grounded proposals were made for organizing targeted prevention, taking into account the identified factors.

The recommendations developed by the Academy based on studies conducted in the cities of Almalyk and Angren are currently being implemented in practice. In this process, the effectiveness of preventive measures is regularly assessed, and the impact of the measures being taken on the situation regarding offences in the areas is studied.

In addition, the Academy is organizing training seminars for members of the “mahalla seven” with the aim of strengthening the prevention system in mahallas.
