A scientific approach to ensuring a safe environment in Angren

On 6 October, a working group comprising Deputy Head of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Odinaev and faculty members studied the criminogenic situation in the “Bostan” mahalla of Angren, Tashkent Region. Particular attention was paid to risk factors specific to the area, the causes of offences, and the conditions contributing to their occurrence.

The study was conducted as part of comprehensive scientific and practical research carried out by the Academy in the cities of Almalyk and Angren to implement Resolution No. PQ–1 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 3 January 2025. These activities are aimed at creating a safe environment in mahallas and preventing offences at an early stage.

The working group analysed criminogenic factors in the mahalla and the dynamics of offences. Based on the findings, scientifically grounded and targeted recommendations were developed to eliminate the identified causes and conditions and improve the effectiveness of preventive measures.

As part of these activities, practical training seminars are also being organised to improve the qualifications of members of the “mahalla seven”. At the same time, measures are being taken to implement the developed recommendations in practice and continuously assess the effectiveness of the preventive measures being undertaken.
